About Bishram Ghat Mathura
Vishram Ghat (also spelled Bishram Ghat) is one of the most sacred ghats situated on the banks of River Yamuna in Mathura.
According to Hindu belief, this is the holy place where Lord Krishna rested after defeating Kansa. The word “Vishram” means rest, which is why this ghat holds deep spiritual importance.
It is considered the most important ghat among the 25 ghats in Mathura.
Spiritual Importance of Vishram Ghat
Devotees believe that performing parikrama of Mathura begins and ends at Vishram Ghat. Taking a holy dip in the Yamuna River here is said to wash away sins and bring peace and blessings.
Every evening, the Yamuna Aarti creates a divine atmosphere with lamps, chants, and temple bells.
